Meet Lindsey Burrell, Ph.D
T. Lindsey Burrell, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in improving the quality of life and well-being of autistic youth. This may involve addressing co-occurring conditions including anxiety, social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Burrell also treats common childhood concerns including feeding, sleep, and toileting concerns in neurotypical and neurodivergent children. Parents are essential in treatment and as such, Dr. Burrell specializes in parent-mediated intervention. She is a master trainer and certified therapist in the RUBI Parent Training program, a structured evidence-based intervention to reduce meltdowns, aggression and other behavioral challenges in autistic youth. Dr. Burrell also employs a cognitive behavioral therapy approach to teach children how their thoughts and feelings affect their behaviors and to develop more positive thought patterns and effective coping strategies.

Dr. Burrell also has expertise in working with youth with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Due to the multi-faceted etiology of feeding challenges, Dr. Burrell works collaboratively with other supportive care professionals including dietitians, pediatricians, psychiatrists, and speech and occupational therapists. The treatment of ARFID and other feeding concerns could involve individual therapy, parent mediated intervention (without the child) and/or parent coaching (with child).
Dr. Burrell received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University, completed her pre-doctoral internship and two years of post-doctoral fellowship at Emory University and the Marcus Autism Center. Dr. Burrell was an Assistant Professor at Emory University and Licensed Psychologist at the Marcus Autism Center in the Severe Behavior Clinic (2015-2017) and Children’s Multidisciplinary Feeding program (2015-2021). Dr. Burrell then transitioned to private practice at the Atlanta Children’s Center (2021-2025) and is now the proud owner of Burrell Behavioral Therapy and Consulting, LLC.

Dr. Burrell holds a PSYPACT license and can provide virtual services across 43 States.
